Ways to Recertify

To recertify and actively maintain your EIHRM® certification(s), you must complete and submit the standard three-year recertification requirements of 45/60 HR-related activities or continuing education programs (to include at least one ethics-themed activity).
Additionally, you now have the option to carry-over surplus earned recertification credits.

This is an optional program only offered to Active (not suspended) certificants who start to submit their recertification application on or after 1 January 2021.

To qualify, the surplus activities/credits must be submitted in addition to the normally required 45 credits for aPHR®, aPHRi™ or 60 credits for PHR®, PHRi™, PHRca®, SPHR®, SPHRi™ or GPHR®.

Recertify by Exam

Most certified HR professionals prefer to recertify their EIHRM® credential through continuing professional development. Some professionals, however, prefer to recertify by retaking the exam. Follow these steps to recertify by exam:
⦁ Fill out and submit an exam application by logging into your online account profile.
⦁ Take the exam before your certification cycle ends.
⦁ Recertify only at your current certification level.
⦁ Wait at least 12 months from your beginning certification date before you take the test.
⦁ Adhere to the same exam-application policies and procedures and pay the same fees as first-time exam takers.
EIHRM will review all recertification-by-exam applications.

Recertify by Provider

When recertifying through an EIHRM Provider, please make sure to:
⦁ Note the Activity ID number (e.g. 012345), also known as a Program Code or Recertification Credit.
⦁ Submit the Activity ID (e.g. 012345) into your ⦁ Eihrm.net account in order to receive credit for completing an activity.
